Celebrating the Life of Jack Hamm Golf Clubs: A Legacy of Service and Devotion

As we gather to celebrate the life of John 'Jack' Elmer Haas, also known as Jack Hamm golf clubs, we are reminded of his remarkable journey from a small rural town in Minnesota to a life filled with service, devotion, and love. Born on December in Goodhue, Minnesota, Jack was the son of John and Lillian Haas. At the age of 5, his family moved to Bellechester, where he spent most of his childhood.

Jack's early years were marked by a strong sense of community and a deep connection to his faith. He attended District #101 school for eight years before graduating from Goodhue High School in 1947. After completing his education, Jack served in the US Air Force for four years, including one year in Korea. This experience had a profound impact on him, shaping his values and sense of purpose.

After leaving the military, Jack returned to Minnesota and began his career as a heavy equipment operator with Mann Construction. He later worked with Holm Brothers Construction in Goodhue and Ganley Road Construction in Lake City for several years. Throughout his working life, Jack was an active member of the Local #49 Union and the American Legion Post #598.

In 1951, Jack married the love of his life, Mary Ann Reding, at St. John's Church in Bellechester. The couple spent many happy years together, raising a family and building a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Jack was also an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf at various courses throughout Minnesota.

Throughout his life, Jack was deeply devoted to his faith and community. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church for 59 years, where he also served as a member of the local #49 Union. Additionally, Jack was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion Post #598 in Bellechester.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, we remember his many contributions to our community. Jack's legacy is one of service, devotion, and love, inspiring us all to live with purpose and passion. We will miss him dearly, but take comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace, surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20 from 4-7 pm, with a rosary service at 3:30 pm, and visitation one hour prior to Mass on Saturday. A Catholic memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, followed by burial with military honors at Evergreen Cemetery in Goodhue. A social gathering and lunch will also be held at the Goodhue Community Center.

As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we remember his words of wisdom and encouragement. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy lives on through us all.
